Triumphant Return

“Nala, you find my mother and rally the lionesses. I’ll look for Scar.”

 

Simba didn’t need to tell her twice. For so long she and the lionesses had suffered under the rule of the tyrant, Scar, and at last they were about to be liberated.

 

“Mother!” cried Nala as she sprinted to the top of the hill.

 

“Nala? Is that you? Who’s that with you?” asked Sarafina, her eyes lighting up at the sight of her precious girl.

 

“Simba,” was the breathless reply, as mother and daughter nuzzled. Nala didn’t give the other lioness a chance to ask questions. “Where’s Sarabi? We’re going to take back the Pridelands – now.”

Okay, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't proud of this. Especially the lighting on the sky. I'm actually feeling pretty low today, so I don't know why this came out so good. Usually my 'depressed' drawings aren't so hot. 

I tried to give Sarafina some different facial features to Nala, to make them look less identical. I don't think it worked, though. They were designed to look like clones, and I haven't the skill yet to differentiate. 

The last time I drew 'Fina was back in 2010. I think I may have improved since then, no?
